Today we meet Mar\u00eda Pozo, regulatory and quality controller at Polimerbio.<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n
She studied Biology at the University of Salamanca and her professional career until joining Polimerbio has been developed in the United Kingdom, where she moved after finishing her studies. <\/strong><\/h5>\n
During her professional career she has worked in different areas in the laboratory as a quality control technician and, later, as a department manager. She has also worked in the field of research, leading teams and developing projects in microbiology and molecular biology at the University of Bristol.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

What would you highlight about Polimerbio’s activity?<\/strong><\/p>\n

 Biomaterials have enormous potential in today’s biomedical industry. The fact that Polimerbio is part of this technological revolution in materials and that I, in turn, am part of it, is a real privilege. These materials improve people’s quality of life exponentially. These are biocompatible and bioabsorbable polymeric composites that degrade as the tissue itself regenerates and heals. Once they have accomplished their goal, they disappear without a trace.<\/p>\n

What do you like most about the work you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had never worked in a start-up<\/em>. The truth is that Polimerbio has been a real discovery for me. I am learning from the best. Seeing the creation of a company is a great illusion, which makes you commit yourself to ensure that everything goes as planned and to do your bit for the company. There’s nothing better than feeling valued at your job, since that’s where you spend most of your day, and Polimerbio makes me feel that way.<\/p>\n

What I like most about my job is the versatility with which I approach my work on a daily basis. Being a start-up<\/em> you have the possibility to touch several areas, which helps you to understand the regulations and to apply quality control in a more efficient way.<\/p>\n

On a day-to-day basis, what are your main functions within Polimerbio?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My main function as a regulatory and quality controller at Polimerbio is to ensure that the current and future products we develop comply with current legislation. Also, among other functions, I am in charge of ensuring that the projects carried out are developed correctly and within the established deadlines. It should be remembered in this regard that the regulations that apply to medical devices are very demanding, since they are products that directly affect people’s health.<\/p>\n

 <\/strong>Mar\u00eda,  how do you imagine the Polimerbio of the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/strong>I believe that Polimerbio is a start-up<\/em>  with a lot of potential, has a magnificent team that strives every day to achieve the goals set.
