It is a chemical synthesis laboratory that will allow the company to work in a more versatile and agile way.
After moving to its new facilities located at Paseo Miramon 170, in the Gipuzkoa Technological Park, Polimerbio has opened a modern laboratory equipped for chemical synthesis and oriented to new polymeric materials for tissue engineering.
Polimerbio’s new laboratory will allow the biotech company to work in a more versatile and agile way, and to diversify the portfolio of materials on which it works. As a result, it will be able to explore new possibilities for other biomedical applications, diversifying its product portfolio.
In terms of equipment, it has been equipped with gas extraction fume hoods, chromatographic analysis equipment and, in the production area, a jacketed reactor has been acquired with a capacity to produce up to 3 kg of material, with high-efficiency thermofluid temperature control.
In addition to Polimerbio’s own laboratory, the company in its new location has access to the common research facilities of BIC Gipuzkoa’s bioincubator.
With the new facilities, Polimerbio will be able to cover everything from the production of new polymeric materials to fully synthetic active ingredients. In this way, hybrid materials with a multitude of potential applications in biomedicine will be developed.
